The Outsiders-S.E Hinton

Significance: This book matters because it is about gangs and so if you are in a gang you should automatically get out because in this book kids take it to far in a fight and somebody gets hurt so this matters because you should never be in a gang. This event is important because people can die because people get crazy in fights and then someone will get hurt really badly and that wouldn't be good. The real world situations is that people think that they are tough but they aren't really and they fight then the kid gets really hurt and in real life there is gangs and a lot of people will get really hurt. It relates to peoples lives because if you ever see a gang fight always just watch go get someone and then they will break up the fight. this inspired me because I wanted to read a interesting book about a gang and how someone takes it to far.

Perspective: It was published and written in 1967. A lot of my friends said this book was really good and so they recommended this book and so i got it during the summer to read and it was really sad and good it had a really good ending but also very sad. So my friends are very right about this book. the negative repercussions are that ponyboy has his best friend and something happens to him and it is really bad.

Evidence: The argument the author's argument is that people who think that they are tough can get really hurt if they try to be in a fight just like in the book the main character thinks he is tough and so he goes in a rumble and gets really hurt.

Connection: This connects to the real life because people are in real gangs that stay up late to do bad stuff and get into fights and they will get hurt one day and it be good. this applies to my life because i will never be in a gang and a will never be involoved will a gang at all. my opinion should effect people who are good people and they should stay good people and never become bad people if you do then you made a really bad decision.

Supposition: If there was a new situation then it would be good if it was a good situation but bad then it wouldn't be very good. the world would be different if there was no gangs and if poeple would just be their selfs and not try to be cool and just be cool in there own little way. Life would be so peacefull if there wasn't gangs and then police wouldn't have to go out at night and patrol the strrets because then there wouldn't have to be any troubles.

I Have Lived A Thousand Years- Livia Bitton Jackson

Significance
The author is trying to say that back in the days the life that people lived wasn't so good and especially during the Holocaust. People in the Holocaust get treated very badly especially the Jews they get tortured. I chose this book because I wanted to learn about the Holocaust and how people survived in the Holocaust because of the tortured little kids and their moms and dads getting killed by them. This work matters because they suffered in the Holocaust and got very sick because of this. the Holocaust was very bad there was a lot of shouting and shooting at people and the Germans played a lot of traps for them to die. I think this is important because a lot of people died and we have to remember this because people fought for their lives and almost died and not a lot of people survived that Holocaust. It relates to our lives because it was a real story and people have to remember stuff about the Holocaust. People would read this book because just like me I wanted to learn how people survived in the Holocaust.
Perspective
This book was written in 1999 and that was the first paperback book but in 1997 it was the copyright. You could explain this to a 3rd grader by saying there was a war between the Germans and the Jews and the Jews got sent to a camp and they had to work all day long because they weren't in the war and the Germans had to take carge of them but they weren't really nice to them and so the Jews who were bad got killed by the Germans. I think that the problem was that the Jews weren't getting very good people to take care of them.
Evidence
the argument the author is trying to make is that in the Holocaust Jews can't really do stuff in the Holocaust and if they do stuff wrong they get a punishment and sometimes they might get killed so they have to do exactly what the German's say to do.
Connection
The context/history is that it started LONG time ago and so that is very historic and nice to know about. This event changed life because now we don't hate the Jews and people get a long and people aren't slaves for the Germans. This work applies to my life because one of my friends is a Jew and if the Holocaust was still going me and my friend wouldn't be best friends and so this has changed my life a lot. This effects other peoples life because they always have to have a Jewish person in there life so this can effect there lives too.
Supposition
If i put another situation it would be pretty bad situation, people would get very bad people will get into wars and it would be crazy.
