Significance:
This book matters because people in real life have anger problems and in this book Slam has very bad anger problems. He is a very bad example because he doesn't do his homework and doesn't really care. If he doesn't get his way he gets really mad, also he doesn't have good grades and he really likes to play basketball and so if you are failing then you can’t play sports for your school team.
Perspective:
The book was written in 1996 and copy written in the same year. How you can explain this to a 3rd grader is that the main character gets really mad easily and doesn’t have the best grades and he likes playing basketball. I liked this book because it was very interesting and it is a kid that likes to play basketball and I like to play basketball.
Evidence:
The argument the author is trying to get out is that you better have good attitude and good grades to play in sports and very good sportsmanship. Also he is saying that if your good at a sport then you better have good grades because then you wouldn't be able to play in team sports.
Connection:
This book relates to life because people have bad grades and then they can't play sports or they are in the middle of there sports season and then they get bad grades so they can't play anymore until they get there grades up so that could ruin there team and make them lose because they might be very good but bad at a subject and fail. Also people have very bad anger problems and then people wouldn't like them.
Supposition:
If there was another situation I think it could be a bad situation or a good situation because he could do something good or he could have a another anger problem then he would get into another fight and do very bad in school, also if he does good then that means he could play basketball.
